In the age of social media, genuine human contact is becoming more infrequent. We encourage teenagers to step away from short-form videos and rediscover printed books and meaningful face-to-face conversations.
Simultaneously, we champion multicultural exchange as a powerful means to broaden perspectives, dissolve arrogance and prejudice, and realize life's possibilities.
Field Studies of Hmong Culture
The Hmong are a ethnic minority in China. With the support of the Guizhou Hewan Institute and the Minzu University of China, C-Eudaemonia sent a Cultural Sustainability Research Team to conduct in-depth field studies in Shidon Town. Our research focused on distinctive Hmong festivities such as the Dragon Boat Festival and the Sisters Festival, exploring their relationship with traditional social structures.
During this process, we produced a documentary on the Hmong women’s embroidery skills. We also launched the Hmong Living Humanities Museum, an online repository of fieldwork discoveries, and mentored participants in developing cultural products deeply rooted in Hmong artistic traditions.
Human Pages
Human Pages is an independent bookstore revival project initiated and propelled by a group of teenagers passionate about reading, contemplation, and discussion. We firmly believe that independent bookstores are symbols of a city’s cultural and intellectual spirit.
Today, Human Pages has engaged independent bookstore owners from over 20 cities across China, including Guizhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing, Qingdao, Beihai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Through our "Book Recipe Project," we inspire more people to rediscover printed books, support the revival of independent bookstores, and empower new spiritual significance into literature, the written word, bookshops, physical books, authors, and readers alike.
